Anyone interested in joining our listserv should send an email to, or visit the NC APCO/NENA Yahoo Group page and follow the subscription instructions.  All individuals requesting membership will be verified by the group moderator.
In order to keep our listserv moderated and prevent unnecessary or inappropriate postings, the Executive Boards have created rules to regulate all postings to the email group.  Anyone found in violation of the rules and regulations will be referred to the Presidents of NC APCO and NC NENA for review.
North Carolina APCO/NENA List Serv Rules
Effective: January 30, 2007
Amended:  March 16, 2007
  • All postings should be sent with the intention of promoting 9-1-1 in North Carolina and informing other members of issues relevant to the operation of their PSAP.
  • Include a signature tag on all messages.  Include your name, affiliation/agency, location and email address.
  • State concisely and clearly the specific topic of comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
  • Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that everyone can benefit from.
  • Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals - not to the entire list.  Do this by using your email application's forwarding option and typing in or cutting and pasting in the email address of the individual to whom you want to respond.
  • Do not challenge or attack others.  The discussions on the list are meant to stimulate conversation, not to create contention.  Let others have their say, just as you may.
  • All defamatory, discriminatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal postings are strictly prohibited.  Dialog and discussion should be handled in a professional manner.
  • Marketing of vendor products or services is strictly prohibited on this list serv; requests for vendor specific information should be made with requests for responses to be sent off-line.  Vendors may post information regarding training, seminars and user groups that they are sponsoring.
  • All list serv participants must follow these posted guidelines.  Failure to do so will result in your removal from the NCAPCONENA list serv.  The discretion to remove members from the list serv will be jointly shared by the NC NENA and NC APCO Presidents.
  • Posting of employment opportunities by any active member of this email list is allowed.
